Volunteering and Stourport RFC
Stourport RFC is a not for profit organisation, run with the sole purpose of facilitating the playing of grass roots rugby.
The club is run by volunteers, which means we are dependent on the good will of people to keep the club alive.
There is no need to have an interest in rugby to be involved at the club, it is a very social environment with lots of opportunity to make friends for life.

*The club aims to make the most of any offer to volunteer however it retains the right to assess an individuals suitability for the chosen task and reject their offer when required.
Bar
The club run a fully licensed and stocked bar as its main source of income, whilst providing much needed refreshments for the members during socials or on match days.
Volunteering behind the would entail serving alcohol, soft drinks and other bar related products, as well as re-stocking the bar during service and changing barrels when required.
We also offerer a mentoring scheme for people who are looking for experience to help them get paid bar work.
Bar volunteers would operate under the direction of the club Clubhouse Manager.
Grounds
Stourport rugby club have 3 full sized rugby pitches and surrounding areas to maintain all year round.
Volunteering on the grounds includes the following activities: Mowing, slitting and rolling the pitches are associated areas, line marking the pitches, litter picking, weeding and general housekeeping.
A lot of the grounds work requires the use of a tractor and other heavy machinery, anyone wishing to help out in this area should have a full driving license and would undergo training and a suitability assessment by the club Groundsman.
Grounds volunteers would work under the direction of the club Groundsman.
Event Planning/Organising
Every season the club holds a wide variety of events, from a bonfire night and formal dinner to Halloween parties and beer pong. All of these require a certain amount of time and effort to pull off.
Anyone wishing to volunteer in this area would operate under the guidance of the clubs Social secretary.
Food Prep
After every game, as is the tradition of grass roots rugby, the players are given a meal for their troubles. Stourport have always prided ourselves on giving the players a real treat post game.
This entails pre-cooking food before the game and serving it to the players once they are changed and showered.
Anyone helping out in the kitchen would be under the direction of the Clubhouse Manager.
